Esko Aaltonen
Esko Aaltonen (born March 9, 1893 in Forssa , † March 24, 1966 in Helsinki ) was a Finnish sociologist and folklorist .
After working as a high school teacher and journalist in his hometown, Aaltonen became editor-in-chief of the cultural magazine Suomalainen Suomi . In his scientific work he mainly dealt with Finnish customs and cooperative society . From 1949 to 1951 he worked as a lecturer in social history at the University of Turku and then until 1962 as a professor of sociology there. During this time he turned to social psychology , social ecology and family sociology.
