The Estação Litoral da Aguda

The Estação Litoral da Aguda (ELA) is a show aquarium on Praia da Aguda in the northern Portuguese municipality of Arcozelo . It was opened to visitors in 1999 and also serves as a teaching aquarium for the Instituto de Ciências Biomédicas Abel Salazar (ICBAS) at the University of Porto .

The owner is the Câmara Municipal of Vila Nova de Gaia . In 2004 it was voted the best zoo in Portugal in a study.
