Altamira FC

The Estadio Altamira , formerly known as Deportivo Sur de Tamaulipas , is a football stadium in Altamira , Tamaulipas , which is home to the Mexican football club Altamira FC and can accommodate 13,500 visitors.

history

The initiative to build the stadium came from Enrique de Hita Yibale, who was also the driving force behind the founding of Altamira FC in summer 2001.

Construction work began in January 2003 and only nine months later the stadium was officially opened on October 19, 2003 with the second division meeting between the hosts and Club Acapulco . The first goal in the new stadium was scored by Carlos Alberto Rodríguez in the fourth minute to make it 1-0 for the home team.
