The Estadio Olímpico de Riobamba is a football stadium with an athletics facility in the Ecuadorian city of Riobamba , Chimborazo province . It is the home ground of the CD Olmedo football club and various lower-class clubs in the city. The sports facility has space for 14,400 spectators and was opened in 1926.
The facility was one of six stadiums for the 1995 U-17 World Cup . In 2001, matches of the U-20 South American Football Championship were played in Riobamba. The 2014 South American Women's Football Championship in Ecuador also stopped at the Riobamba stadium.
