Esteban Krotz
Esteban Krotz ( German also: Stefan Krotz) (* 1947 in Barcelona ) is a Spanish-German social anthropologist and cultural philosopher . He teaches and researches at the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana , the Universidad Autónoma de Yucatán, and at the University of Philosophy in Munich.
Life
Krotz obtained a master’s degree in social anthropology at the Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City in 1976 and a doctorate in philosophy at the University of Philosophy in Munich in 1993 .
Research priorities
In his academic work, Krotz aims to combine empirical social anthropology with cultural philosophy . In addition to questions of interculturality , his focus is on anthropological theory formation, political and legal anthropology, or political and legal ethnology . Geographically, his focus is on Latin America, especially Mexico .
