Ester Workel (born March 18, 1975 in Haaksbergen ) is a former Dutch helmsman in rowing who won two Olympic medals in eighth .

Workel only started rowing in 1994. Her first participation in a major international championship ended with eighth place at the 2001 World Championships in Lucerne, when she steered the Dutch eighth to second place in the B final. In 2004 she returned to the Dutch eighth and steered the boat to third place behind the boats from Romania and the United States at the 2004 Athens Olympics. At the 2005 World Championships in Gifu, the Dutch eighth won bronze again, this time behind the Australians and Romanians. After several second places, Ester Workel won a World Cup race with the eighth for the first time in Amsterdam in 2007. At the 2007 World Rowing Championships , the boat only took seventh place. After two fourth places in the 2008 World Cup, the eighth in the Olympic final in Beijing achieved a rather surprising second place behind the Americans and ahead of the Romanians.
