Estrada de Ferro União Valenciana

The Estrada de Ferro União Valenciana was a railway company in the Brazilian state of Rio de Janeiro .

history

The railway line was inaugurated in 1871 as the first rail line with a track width of 1.10 meters. The route went from Valença to Desengano (Juparanã) and was extended to Rio Preto in 1880 .

By resolution of the then President Nilo Pecanha on June 23, 1910, the company was transferred to the Rêde de Viação Fluminense and thus to the railway company Estrada de Ferro Central do Brasil (EFCB).

Between 1971 and 1973 the line was shut down and later the tracks were removed.
