The Ethelbald Bluff is a cliff of volcanic rock on the West Antarctic Alexander Island . It forms the western end of the ramified mountain ridges that extend west from Belemnite Point .
The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named the cliff on April 29, 1997 after Ethelbald (834-860), King of Wessex from 858 until his death.
