Band history

The beginnings

Etno Engjujt was founded in 1995 by Groph Monte and Mc'M. Her lyrics are mainly about life in Kosovo and in her place of residence, Pristina . Your texts have developed in parallel with the situation in Kosovo. Before the war in Kosovo, her texts mostly dealt with the situation of the Albanians. During this time, the group had only moderate success, as rap had not yet established itself in Kosovo.

After the war

After the war in Kosovo they mainly describe the life of young Kosovars, i. H. their target audience. Now they are also rapping on youthful topics such as B. parties, women, sex etc. Often, however, they also use their songs as a tool to illustrate the differences in Kosovo before and after the war (e.g. in the song Jovo from the album Etno Engjujt , which was released in 2003 appeared).

In 2005 their latest album Vitamin E was released which contains 20 tracks. Here, too, the range of topics is very wide. This album includes the song Albanian , which was one of the most successful songs of the year in Kosovo. There is also a video for the song that was and is still running on every Albanian broadcaster. In this song the MCs describe what it means to them to be Albanian. Here they express their patriotism in a very poetic way. In the video they show many Albanian personalities such as B. Mother Teresa . With this song, they achieved success not only with teenagers but also with older people who are not hip-hop fans.

The two MCs now have their own black music label PRC Records (“PRC” stands for “Prishtina City”).
