Can of Ettan snus

Ettan (Swedish: "Die Eins") is the oldest and best known snus . It was first produced in 1822 by Jacob Fredrik Ljunglöf.

It is made by the largest snus producer, Swedish Match .

Ettan, like all other snus varieties, was originally offered exclusively as a loosing snus. The packaged “portion” variant only followed later. The product range was supplemented in autumn 2006 by the "White Portion" variant. This portion variant is wrapped in white paper (hence the name). The snus should therefore be able to be stored longer regardless of temperature and should be less saturated with juice during use.

A can of Ettan-Lös contains 45 grams of snus, a can of Ettan portion contains 24 grams (24 portions of 1 gram).

Taste and Ingredients

Ettan relies on an unadulterated, but not too intrusive tobacco taste.

The ingredients are water, tobacco, ethanol , humectant E 1520 , as an acidity regulator E 500 and table salt to keep the pH value in the mouth neutral. Ettan contains 8 mg of nicotine per serving, about 2% salt, a maximum of 0.2% sugar and a maximum of 0.5% ethanol and no flavorings. The water content makes up about 55%, so the manufacturer recommends storage at a maximum of 8 ° C and gives an expiry date.

Ettan brand snus contains 1.8 ppm of carcinogenic particles, which is about 85% less than a full-flavor cigarette .
