Eugen Weidner

Eugen Weidner (born November 9, 1911 ; † unknown) was a German football player .

Life

The left defender played for VfB Stuttgart in his youth and was also active in the first team there from 1930. In the district league Württemberg / Baden he came in 44 appearances for the Stuttgart on 21 goals. In the Gauliga Württemberg Weidner played 65 times for the Swabians and in the finals for the German championship he made nine appearances for VfB. With the white-reds, the defensive player, who played mostly on the left, won the championship in the Gauliga Württemberg in 1935, 1937 and 1938. When Weidner became German runner-up with VfB Stuttgart in 1935 , he was in action in all championship finals against FC Hanau 93 , SV Jena and SpVgg Fürth, apart from the final, in which he was injured . The VfB defender pair formed in the group phase and in the semifinals against VfL Benrath - VfB was coached in the final by Fritz Teufel - Eugen Weidner with Franz Seybold . During his active career, Weidner also played for SpVgg Öhringen .
