Eugene Gearty

Eugene Gearty (* 1960 ) is an American sound engineer . He has worked in over 80 films since 1983.

Awards

Gearty was nominated  for an Oscar in the category Best Sound in 2002 for the film Gangs of New York (2002) . At the 2012 Oscars , he won an Oscar in the Best Sound Editing category for his work on Martin Scorsese's Hugo Cabret . Gearty also won an Emmy Award for the TV series Boardwalk Empire .
