Eugène Pereire

Eugène Pereire (born October 1, 1831 in Paris ; † 1908 there ) was a French banker.

Life

Isaac Pereire's son graduated as a civil engineer in 1852 and then worked as an administrator of the Compagnie des chemins de fer du Midi , the French Southern Railway. He helped set up the Société Générale du Crédit Mobilier in Spain, was director of the Parisian bus and gas companies, president of Compagnie Générale Transatlantique , the Spanish insurance company La Unión y el Fénix and the Banque Transatlantique, which he founded in 1881.

Pereire was a member of parliament, commander of the Legion of Honor and, like his great-grandfather, devoted himself to the education of the deaf and mute.
