Eugene Timmons

Eugene Timmons (* in the 20th century ; † May 13, 1999 ) was an Irish politician of the Fianna Fáil .

In 1961 Timmons was elected to the 17th Dáil Éireann in the Dublin North-East constituency, to which he belonged until 1965. In 1965 he could not defend his mandate in the elections for the 18th Dáil Éireann. It was not until the elections for the 19th Dáil in 1969 that he succeeded in returning to the House of Commons, to which he was a member until 1977 after another successful re-election. In 1977 he left the House of Commons for good as a result of his electoral defeat.

From 1965 to 1967 Timmons held the office of Lord Mayor of Dublin. He was the last politician to hold this office for more than one term.
