Yevgenia Vladimirovna Malinnikova

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Yevgenia Vladimirovna Malinnikova ( Russian Евгения Владимировна Малинникова ; Eugenia Malinnikova, born April 23, 1974 in Leningrad ) is a Russian mathematician who deals with analysis.

Malinnikowa was in 1999 at the University of St. Petersburg at Wiktor Chawin doctorate (Аппроксимационные свойства гармонических дифференциальных форм в Евклидовом пространстве и на римановых многообразиях , Eng. Approximation Properties of Harmonic Differential Forms in the Euclidean Space and on Riemann manifolds ). As a post-doctoral student , she was at the University of Missouri-Columbia and the Technical and Natural Sciences University of Norway (NTNU), where she has been a professor since 2004.

Among other things, she was a visiting scholar in Berkeley and Marseille.

Malinnikowa deals with complex and harmonic analysis, potential theory, elliptic partial differential equations and their discretization. In 2017 she received the Clay Research Award with Alexander Logunow for the introduction of novel geometrical-combinatorial methods for studying the properties of solutions of elliptic eigenvalue problems. This led to solutions to long open problems in geometric analysis (spectral geometry).

She is married and has two kids.
