Euler DI-II
The Euler DI and D.II were combat single -seater of the German air force in the First World War .
history
After the inferiority of the Fokker monoplane to allied fighter planes became more and more evident in 1916, captured French Nieuport 11 fighter planes were made available to the German aircraft companies in order to make new constructions based on these prey planes . The Euler works of aviation pioneer August Euler in Frankfurt am Main largely followed the French model and built the DI with 80 hp and D.II with a 100 hp rotary engine as an almost lifelike copy of the Nieuport.
commitment
It is not known whether the aircraft actually went into service at the front. From 1916, however, 30 DI and 20 D.II were delivered, which were used for training purposes.
