The succulent Euphorbia acervata forms small, dense shrubs that grow in tufts up to 30 centimeters in height and 50 centimeters in diameter. They arise from a fleshy and bulbous root. The very blunt and rarely branching shoots are square and 1 to 1.5 centimeters in diameter. On the edges there are protruding warts that are 1 to 1.7 centimeters apart. The obovate thorn shields are 8 millimeters wide and 3 millimeters long and stand individually. 8 millimeter long thorns and up to 2 millimeter long stipule spines are formed.

The inflorescence consists of single, simple and almost sedentary cymes . The funnel-shaped cyathium reaches 5 millimeters in diameter. The elongated nectar glands are colored yellow and touch each other. The bluntly lobed fruit is sessile and 3.75 millimeters wide and 4.25 millimeters long. The egg-shaped seed is about 2 millimeters wide and 1.5 millimeters long and is covered with warts.
