Euphorbia broussonetii is a species of the genus spurge ( Euphorbia ) in the family of Euphorbiaceae (Euphorbiaceae).

description

The succulent Euphorbia brevitorta forms densely branched shrubs with a height of up to 2 meters. The leaves, which stand close together at the tips of the shoots, are linear and sitting. They are up to about 5 inches long and 0.6 inches wide.

The terminal inflorescence consists of cymes , which appear in four to eight-pointed umbels. Small and egg-shaped bracts are formed. The nectar glands are lobed. The bluntly lobed fruit is about 8 millimeters in size and stands on a protruding stem. The egg-shaped seed has a smooth surface and a small appendage .

Distribution and systematics

Euphorbia broussonetii is common in the Canary Islands .

The species was first described in 1828 by Heinrich Friedrich Link . Synonyms for this species are Euphorbia obtusifolia f. latibracteata G.Kunkel (1978) Euphorbia lamarckii f. latibracteata ( G. Kunkel ) Oudejans (1993), Tirucallia virgata var. latibracteata ( G. Kunkel ) PVHeath (1996) and Euphorbia obtusifolia var. wildpretii Molero & Rovira (1998).
