Euphrasius of Poreč
Euphrasius of Poreč (* late 5th / early 6th century in Thrace ; † 560 in Poreč ; also Euphrasius von Parenzo , Croatian Eufrazije ) is a Christian saint and was the second known bishop of Poreč .
About the life of St. Euphrasius is little known. He became Bishop of Poreč between 530 and 540. He was used to enforce the ecclesiastical policy of Emperor Justitian after the Byzantine conquest of Istria . From 543 he had the diocese basilica rebuilt using old components; it is named after him today.
Euphrasius of Poreč was buried in a chapel in the new basilica.
