The Kilmainhamwood perforated stone is in the St. John the Baptist's Church "( German  " Johannes-der-Täufer-Kirche " ) in the townland of Kilmainhamwood ( Irish Cill Mhaighneann ) south of Kingscourt ( Irish Dun an Ri ) in the far east of County Cavan on a drumlin , above the Kilmainham River ( Irish Abhainn Chill Mhaighneann ) in County Meath in Ireland .

The approximately 1.05 m high, 0.45 m wide and 0.15 m thick perforated stone has a rectangular hole about 0.1 × 0.15 m on top and a carved ring cross below . The relationship between the perforated stone and the cross is unclear. The cross must have been added to the early Bronze Age menhir in order to Christianize it .

A slightly smaller hole Stein ( English holed stone ) with round hole is in Trim also County Meath .
