Euro Cargo Rail SAS (ECR), based in Paris, is a railway company that belongs to the Deutsche Bahn subsidiary DB Cargo .
In the course of the rather hesitant opening of the French market to competitors of the state-owned SNCF , ECR is only the third French rail freight company (after SNCF and Veolia ) , but with an estimated market share of 14 percent (2010) it is the largest independent provider. On September 30, 2010, ECR had received approval for the entire French rail network from the French rail transport authority EPSF . As of March 1, 2016, the logo was adapted to the parent company DB Cargo.
