Euronesians
Euronesians are an ethnic group with around 250,000 members worldwide. They were formed from a mixture of indigenous Oceanians and Europeans .
On the oceanic side, the genetic background is predominantly Polynesian , followed by Micronesian and Melanesian . On the European side, he is predominantly British , followed by French , German and Spanish .
The term, in its English version Euronesians , is mainly used on the Samoan islands . The administrative areas with the numerically largest Euronesian population are French Polynesia (44,000), New Caledonia (25,000), Papua New Guinea ( Solomon Islands ) and Samoa (18,000 each).
In Australia and New Zealand , children born there with both Polynesian ( Pacific People ) and European origins are not referred to as Euronesians , but as multiracial , i.e. H. Australians or New Zealanders of mixed ethnic origin.
