The Königsberger Kunstverein was one of the oldest art associations in Germany.

history

Ernst August Hagen founded in Königsberg i. Pr. The art and trade association. By 1838 it had over 1,000 members. From 1845 he called himself only an art association. In 1913 he built the Königsberg art gallery on the Wrangelturm . In 1914 the association had 1,580 members, before the Second World War around 400.

The last chairman was Königsberg's Lord Mayor Hellmuth Will . Eduard Anderson served the club longest as a board member ; he was secretary from 1910 to 1932. His successor was Alfred Rohde .
