Meno Mühlig
Meno Mühlig (born April 8, 1823 in Eibenstock , † June 8, 1873 in Dresden ) was a German genre and landscape painter .
Lenen and work
He was the brother of the painter Bernhard Mühlig (1829-1910) and the father of the landscape and animal painter Hugo Mühlig (1854-1929). The artist studied at the Dresden Academy with Julius Huebner . The brothers Bernhard and Meno Mühlig belonged to the Dresden circle of late romanticists . In addition to motifs from the Reformation period and the 17th century, Meno Mühlig also depicted scenes with poachers and showmen. Together with Julius Döring and Karl Wilhelm Schurig, he illustrated the book “ Germany and the German People in Descriptions by Eduard Duller ” in 1845.
