European Short Film Biennale Ludwigsburg

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The European Short Film Biennale Ludwigsburg is a short film festival in Ludwigsburg . Young European filmmakers are a constant focus of the biennial festival.

In 1994 the festival took place for the first time as the “Ludwigsburg Film Festival” at the Baden-Württemberg Film Academy in Ludwigsburg, which had been founded three years earlier . In 1999, 2001 and 2003 it was part of the “Filmfest Stuttgart Ludwigsburg” with the feature film section “Cinema Europa” in Stuttgart and the short film section “European Short Film” in Ludwigsburg. Since 2005 it has been operating independently again under the name European Short Film Biennale Ludwigsburg, which accentuates the biennial cycle.

The European Short Film Biennale Ludwigsburg has been organized since 2001 by the Stuttgarter Film- und Medienfestival gGmbH in cooperation with the Baden-Württemberg Film Academy and the Wüstenrot Foundation as co-organizers. The competition sponsored by the Wüstenrot Foundation is one of the most highly endowed short film competitions in Europe with total prize money of over 50,000 euros.
