European Association of Conveyor and Storage Technology

The European Association of handling and storage technology (FEM, after the French name of the Association Fédération Européenne de la Manutention , English European Federation of Materials Handling and Storage Equipment ) is a trade association and more than 1,000 companies representing the conveyor and storage technology in Europe. The organization was founded in 1953 and is based in Brussels , Belgium.

Members of the FEM are made up of 13 national associations

  • Finland (Technology Industries of Finland)
  • Great Britain (British Materials Handling Federation)
  • Italy (Associazione Italiana Sistemi di Sollevamento, Elevazione et Movimentazione)
  • Luxembourg (Fédération des Industriels Luxembourgeois Groupement des Constructeurs et Fondeurs)
  • Netherlands (Vereniging FME-CWM)
  • Poland (ANEMM)
  • Sweden (Teknikföretagen)
  • Turkey (ISDER).

Direct membership of individual companies is not possible.

The technical rules issued by the association are highly regarded and have a similar status to standards. In Germany, the accident prevention regulations partly refer to the FEM rules.
