The European Conference of Transport Ministers (English: European Conference of Ministers of Transport (ECMT), French: Conférence Européenne des Ministres transport (ECMT)) is an institutionalized forum for governments to harmonize European transport matters.

At their meeting in Dublin in May 2006, the transport ministers decided to set up the International Transport Forum (ITF) in order to allow countries beyond geographical Europe to join. The ITF has global aspirations and is an organization affiliated with the OECD . The founding members of the ITF are all member states of the OECD, as well as some countries from Central and Eastern Europe.

The activities previously regulated by the CEMT with the so-called CEMT permit will be continued under this name, but they have been subordinated to the new ITF. Such a permit allows a transport company to carry out trips in three-country traffic .
