history

The technical development of the Europace marketplace in the area of private real estate financing began in 1999. The marketplace's breakthrough came through the decision of Dr., accompanied by a merger with Hypoport AG . Klein & Co. AG to use the marketplace at the end of 2002. The transaction volume on the marketplace rose from approx. 100 million euros per month in 2003 to 1 billion euros at the end of 2005. In February and March 2007, a market share of More than 10 percent of all private real estate financing in Germany with a fixed interest rate of more than 5 years is processed via the Europace marketplace.

At the end of 2006, Hypoport AG and the largest Dutch mortgage service provider, Stater, entered into a joint venture to establish the Europace marketplace in the Netherlands . In 2008, Hypoport received the Innovation Award from the Banking Review in Holland for the technical implementation of the marketplace platform. Due to the strong effects of the financial, economic and euro crisis on the Netherlands, it was not possible to achieve a critical mass of platform partners to stimulate the marketplace effect. Hypoport therefore decided to dissolve the joint venture in 2012.

Also due to the negative effects of the financial crisis, Hypoport AG announced on October 9, 2008 the closure of the loss-making business area "Europace for ABS investors".

By the end of 2010, financial services over EUR 75 billion had been processed via Europace. In the following years, the company was able to further expand the transaction volume processed via Europace. In 2014, Europace AG had the best business year to date and realized a transaction volume of 36.2 billion euros.
