The BSQ Bauspar AG is a private building society based in Nuremberg . It was founded in 1990 as a direct sales subsidiary of the Quelle Group for home loan and savings contracts and building finance under the name of Quelle Bauspar AG . “ Direct ” means that there are no sales representatives , no sales representatives and no branches. Today the building society is owned by a holding company of the private building society and has stopped the new business.
With the decision of November 9, 2018 to cease business operations and the approval of the application for winding up BSQ Bauspar AG, including the corresponding GTB on December 18, 2018 by the BaFin, BSQ Bauspar AG is in processing mode i. See § 16 BauSparkG with the aim of discontinuing business.
Company details
The building society claims to be the only direct building society on the German market.
Until autumn 2009 it was 100% privately owned by the descendants of Gustav Schickedanz . The headquarters are in Nuremberg / Fürth in Middle Franconia . According to its own information, the company has 132 employees and around 105,000 customers. In addition, there was cooperation with sales partners such as Netbank , Interhyp and Europace .
In September 2009 it became known that the then Quelle Bausparkasse was in distress due to the financial crisis and is being absorbed by companies belonging to the Association of Private Building Societies . With effect from October 6, 2009, Quelle Bauspar AG was completely taken over by Domus Beteiligungsgesellschaft der Privaten Bausparkassen mbH . The new owner's shareholders are the other 13 private building societies and the Association of Private Building Societies
On November 20, 2009, Quelle Bauspar AG stopped new business and existing home loan and savings contracts will be continued.
Quelle Bauspar AG was renamed BSQ Bauspar AG on June 17, 2010. The name change was necessary because the Quelle brand was sold by the Arcandor Group.
