Bertha Townsend
Bertha Louise Townsend Toulmin (born March 7, 1869 in Philadelphia , † May 12, 1909 in Haverford ) was an American tennis player .
She won the women's singles at the US tennis championships (today: US Open ) in 1888 and 1889. In 1889, she also won the women's doubles. In 1890 she was able to reach the final in the women's singles and doubles again.
In 1974 she was inducted into the Hall of Fame for Tennis.
