European Coalition of Cities against Racism

The European Coalition of Cities against Racism (ECCAR) is an alliance of European cities to fight racism . The coalition goes back to the 2004 founded International Coalition of Cities against Racism of UNESCO . ECCAR was founded in Nuremberg in 2007 .

The goals of the initiative are networking and exchange on measures against racism. In addition, a ten-point action plan was developed. The coalition currently has 140 member cities. The current president is Benedetto Zacchiroli, the mayor of the Italian city ​​of Bologna .
