European Color Initiative

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The European Color Initiative (ECI) is a group of experts that deals with the media-neutral processing of color data in digital publication systems.

It was founded in June 1996 on the initiative of the publishing houses Bauer , Burda , Gruner + Jahr and Springer in Hamburg .

Various ICC profiles for color-correct production can be downloaded free of charge from the website, such as the standardized ECI-RGB profile (available in version 2 since April 16, 2007) as the recommended working color space for screen display. In addition, there are test charts for device characterization available.

The Berlin software entrepreneur and non-fiction author Olaf Drümmer has been chairman of the ECI since 2007 .
