European Federation for Medical Informatics

The European Federation for Medical Informatics (EFMI) is an amalgamation of European organizations that are active in the field of medical informatics . The association was founded in 1976 and is based in Copenhagen .

  • Promotion of international cooperation in the field of medical informatics in Europe.
  • Promotion of standards in the application of medical informatics.
  • Support of research and development in medical informatics.
  • Support of high quality training in medical informatics.
  • Representation of Europe in the International Medical Informatics Association .

activities

The EFMI has been organizing the European scientific conference "Medical Informatics Europe" since 1978. Since 2001 she has also been organizing her own Special Topic Conferences on selected topics. EFMI also currently has 16 active working groups on various topics such as: B. Training in medical informatics, electronic health records, nursing informatics or evaluation of information systems.
