European Game Developer Federation

The European Games Developer Federation ( EGDF for short ) represents the interests of European game developers. The association was founded on November 9, 2006 in Paris . The founding members include the German Federal Association of Computer Game Developers (GAME), the British The Independent Games Developers Trade Association (Tiga) and the French Syndicat national de jeux video (SNJV), as well as interest groups from the Benelux countries (BGIn), Denmark (Producentenveringen), Sweden (Spelplan) and Finland (Neogames). The association from Norway, Spain (DEV) and Italy (AIOMI) have now joined. This European umbrella organization represents more than 600 of the leading studios in Europe, which together employ more than 17,000 people. The General Secretary of the EGDF is Dr. Malte Behrmann.

The aim of the association is to promote the development of computer and video games as a cultural medium and to improve cooperation between European studios.
