The European Industrial Hemp Association (EIHA) is an association based in Brühl (Rhineland) . It is an amalgamation of the hemp processing industry and represents the common interests of industrial hemp growers and industrial processors of industrial hemp on a national and European level. EIHA is the only association in the industrial hemp use sector. This includes u. a. the use of fibers , shives , seeds and cannabinoids . Originally founded as an association of the European commercial hemp industry, a quarter of the members come from countries outside the EU .

The members come from 31 countries and are made up of actors from the commercial hemp cultivation, processing and trade, the automotive, construction, food and feed industries as well as the pharmaceutical industry. Research institutes and financial investors are also represented. Associate members are associations, research institutes, (commercial) companies and individuals from the fields of industrial hemp and other natural fibers , ordinary members are industrial hemp processors. EIHA regularly publishes data on the European natural fiber industry.

Since 2011 the organization has been a member of the "bio-based products" committee CEN / TC411 of the European Committee for Standardization (CEN). EIHA has been a member of the “Expert Group on Bio-based Products” since 2013. The association has also been a member of the technical committee of the “Bioeconomy Panel” of the European Commission since 2013.

The "International Conference of the European Industrial Hemp Association", which has been held annually since 2003, was one of the largest industrial hemp conferences in the world in 2014 with over 200 participants from 39 countries. The increasing number of visitors in recent years is in line with the growth of the industry.
