European Urban Research Association

The European Urban Research Association (EURA) is an interdisciplinary association of scientists and research institutes, which was founded in 1997 in Brussels to research economic and social structural change, primarily in European cities, and derived from this to formulate policy recommendations. EURA now has members from over 20 countries including the USA .

EURA holds an annual conference in a European city and deals with topics of urban planning, urban development, political science, urban sociology and sustainability in an interdisciplinary manner. In 2020 the conference will take place in Oslo under the motto "Contradictions Shaping Urban Futures".

EURA cooperates with its US counterpart, the Urban Affairs Association (UAA) and URBACT In addition, EURA held a course on "Collaborative Local Government for an Open" at the CEU Summer University in 2018 in cooperation with the European Consortium for Political Research (ECPR) Society "carried out.

In addition, EURA has published the journal "Urban Research and Practice" at Taylor and Francis on a regular basis since 2008 . 5 issues appear per year.
