Euschistus (Euschistus) quadrator is a type of bug from the family of stink bugs (Pentatomidae).

features

The brownish colored bugs rarely reach a length of 11 millimeters. The convex pronotum has acute angles on the sides.

Occurrence

Originally, the range of Euschistus tristigmus extended from Honduras to Texas. More recently, the species has spread in the southern United States and is now represented in Louisiana, Georgia and, since 1992, in Florida.

Way of life

Euschistus quadrator is a polyphagous type of bug. The bugs cause damage to cotton and soybeans. Euschistus quadrator is considered an economically significant pest in the USA . The species is bivoltine and overwinters as an imago.
