The manor on Gut Euseküll

The Good Euseküll ( Estonian Õisu mõis ) is a former farm in the municipality Mulgi in the district of Viljandi in Estonia .

history

The estate, founded in the 16th century, was for a long time the ancestral seat of the von Sivers family , a German-Baltic noble family .

In the 17th century the estate was owned by the Swedish crown. King Gustav II Adolf gave it to his treasurer Jesper Matsson Krus . It later returned to the Crown.

In 1744 Tsarina Elisabeth gave the estate and the neighboring Heimtali (Heimthal) estate to the widow of the well-known Russian admiral Peter Sievers . His son, Friedrich Wilhelm von Sivers , finally expanded the estate.

The one-story baroque mansion dates largely from the 1760s. Minor alterations were made in the 19th century. Today the building is used as a vocational school. Not far from the manor house are the other historic manor buildings and the von Sivers family cemetery.
