The EUWARD is the annual European art award for painting and graphics by artists with intellectual disabilities .

It was initiated by the Augustinum Foundation and was first awarded in 2000. With the claim to offer the art of outsiders a professional forum, the event has successfully established itself in the cultural landscape right from the start. It was carried out for the 6th time in 2014.

With the EUWARD art prize, the Augustinum Foundation awards a sponsorship prize for “secret” art : the work of artists whose intellectual disability is a biographical element of their work is a marginal phenomenon in European culture. The EUWARD aims to give it artistic quality be appreciated.

Through the Europe-wide participation, it offers a representative overview of this current artistic "scene". Outstanding works by artists with intellectual disabilities can be promoted and recognized in a media-effective manner and thus public awareness of the cultural achievements of the disabled can be sustainably developed.

An international jury of well-known experts will select the best works from Europe-wide entries, which will then be presented in an exhibition at the Haus der Kunst in Munich . There the award will be presented to the three winners on the occasion of the exhibition opening.

There were a total of 320 entries for the 2014 competition. The jury members came from England, Austria, France and Germany. Around 180 works by the winners and nominees will be exhibited in the Buchheim Museum in Bernried in Upper Bavaria until March 1, 2015 .
