The Eva Lichtspiele are a cinema in Berlin-Wilmersdorf . The cinema was founded in 1913 as Roland Lichtspiele , was one of the first cinemas in Wilmersdorf and is now one of the oldest cinemas in Berlin. After a renovation, it was renamed Eva Lichtspiele after the wife of the cinema operator at the time. Around the same time, a violinist was hired to accompany the pieces. In 1925 a whole orchestra played in the cinema and in the early 1930s the cinema converted to sound film.

A major renovation in 1957 still shapes the interior and facade of the cinema, for example with the lettering and the cloud curtain in the interior. The stalls were replaced in 1992 by cinema seats for 250 visitors, and in 2011 they were converted to digital technology.

Today's program consists of a mix of premieres and follow-ups with a focus on children's films . The cinema is known, among other things, for its series of events, The Old German Film , which has been running for several decades. German films from the 1920s to 1940s are shown here over coffee and cake and a historical introduction.

Within the series Berlinale goes Kiez 2010 and 2011 also were films of the Berlinale in the Eva played light shows, including the retrospective of The Marriage of Maria Braun in of 2010.
