Eva Scherbarth

Eva Scherbarth (* 1929 ) is a German author and illustrator of children's books .

Scherbarth's first publication, entitled Grandfather Rotbart , was published in 1968 as a picture book by the Oldenburg publishing house Gerhard Stalling and was soon translated into English as Grandfather Ben (translation by Francis Uhlman). After that, all of the picture books were published by Ravensburger Verlag .

She gained fame with her hidden object books . The books “That’s us”, “At the doctor” and “We drive out” and numerous others have been published since the 1970s (see below). Some of these works reached more than 20 editions (examples: Come out and play with us 28 editions, At the doctor's 28 editions, that’s us 29 editions).

Scherbarth was married to the late Berlin art professor Günter Scherbarth .
