Eva Zaoralová (born November 28, 1932 in Prague ) is a Czech film critic.

Life

Zaoralová is the editor of the film magazine Film a Doba (Film and Time) and lecturer in film history at the Film and TV Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague (Akademie múzických umění). She was appointed to the respective festival jury at numerous film festivals ( Venice , Berlin , Cannes , Mannheim , Wiesbaden , Antalya, Bitola). She also works as a translator from French and Italian into Czech.

From 1994 to 2010 Zaoralová was the artistic director of the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival program . Since the beginning of 2011 she has been an artistic advisor to the largest film festival in the Czech Republic.

Awards

On October 28, 2010 Eva Zaoralová was awarded the Medal of Merit of the Czech Republic ( Medaile Za zásluhy ) for her achievements in the field of culture.
