Evangelical Office for Distance Learning at the Comenius Institute is the name of an EKD institution that is responsible for distance learning in the area of church adult education . The distance learning center was founded in 1970 in Hanover. It has been based in Münster at the Comenius Institute since 2015 .

The Distance Learning Unit has the task of implementing specific content in a distance learning didactic framework profile for certain training needs. Distance learning can be integrated into the various forms of church education, further training and further education through currently designed modules offered by the distance learning office . The customers of the courses are both church institutions and other providers of continuing education, such as B. Adult Education Centers. The courses can also be taken by individuals. The courses are certified by the ZFU in accordance with the Distance Learning Protection Act.
Possible uses of the distance learning materials are useful as alternative offers to face-to-face teaching, as a supplement to face-to-face teaching, use with regard to different learning methods and in different learning settings.

The courses are offered in four subject areas: languages, theology, life and education.

Scientific Advisory Board
The scientific advisory board, the management of the Comenius Institute and the employees of the distance learning office are responsible for conceptual planning and practical implementation.
Current members of the Scientific Advisory Board are: Holger Hammerich (chairman), Michael Brömse, Horst Rupp, Wolfgang Heuer, Katharina Zittel, Ricarda Dethloff and Peter Schreiner, director of the Comenius Institute.
