Building history and buildings

The church building was built in the 13th century as a late Romanesque building, of which a square tower, the outer walls of the nave and parts of the roof and windows have been preserved. In the 15th century two pairs of columns were added to the nave and the choir was lengthened. This redesign developed the building into a late Gothic hall church. In 1618 a gallery was added, which surrounds the nave on three sides. This gallery can be reached with a wooden staircase in the southwest corner of the ship. The building received the current roofing of the square tower in 1824.

The building has numerous “lines of sight” with its surroundings, especially to the southwest. Therefore, environmental protection applies to the location.
