The Hattingen Evangelical Cemetery is located southeast of the old town of Hattingen . It was created from 1864 and is run jointly by the three parishes of St. Georg , Johannes and Winz-Baak . It has entrances on Bredenscheider Strasse, Friedrichstrasse and Waldstrasse, as well as from the park on Blumenweg.

The cemetery is spacious, with grass-covered spaces between the grave plots. The graves of the Birschel and Hill families are located in the cemetery . The gravestone of Ferdinand Krüger's medical adviser is located on an area known as the gravestone museum . There are war graves and columbaria in several places . A cemetery chapel belongs to the cemetery. A so-called mourning course explains the five stages of mourning for those left behind.
