Evangelistary of Wraza

The Evangelistar von Wraza is an illustrated manuscript in Church Slavonic in Cyrillic script from the 13th century, possibly from northwestern Bulgaria . It contains pericopes from the Gospels of the New Testament for liturgical readings on public holidays and a menologion . There are initials as well as ornamental decorations and figurative representations. The language corresponds to the texts of the Ostromir Gospel and the Archangelsk Gospel , which were written in or near Novgorod .

The manuscript came to Sofia (in the 19th century?) From the Bulgarian city of Wraza . Today it is in the National Library of Saints Cyril and Methodius in Sofia.
