Evangelos Marinakis

Evangelos Marinakis (born July 30, 1967 ) is a Greek shipowner and football official .

Life

His parents were the shipowner and MP Miltiadis Marinakis and Eirini Karakatsani, a Pontic Greek woman who came from the Ypsilantis family. Marinakis is married and has three children.

Companies

After studying in London Marinakis as his father was also active as a ship owner and is the owner of Capital Product Partners LP and Capital Maritime & Trading Corp .

In 2010 he took over 67% of the shares in Olympiacos Piraeus from the Greek entrepreneur Sokratis Kokkalis for 50 million euros. In 2017 Marinakis also became the owner of the traditional English club Nottingham Forest .
