The Evektor EV-55 Outback is a twin-engine turboprop aircraft produced by the Czech manufacturer Evektor-Aerotechnik .
history
The Evektor EV-55 has been developed by the chief designer Petr Štěrba with the help of the Czech Ministry of Industry and Trade since around 2004. The machine was rolled out on March 30, 2010 in Kunovice , Czech Republic . The machine is to be sold primarily in economically weaker countries in Asia , Africa and Latin America . The 30-minute maiden flight of the Evektor EV-55M took place on June 24, 2011 in Kunovice with Evektor's test pilot Josef Charvát and the military pilot Jiří Hána on board. The flight reached a speed of 230 km / h and an altitude of 1000 meters. The first flight of the second machine took place on April 8, 2016. The military variant of the multi-purpose aircraft is called the EV-55M. The EV-55 will be available in three versions - a passenger version, a cargo version and a combination model in which the cargo area is in front of the passenger seats attached to the rear of the cabin. The EV-55 is not equipped with a pressurized cabin .
On October 10, 2012, the Russian company AeroGeo ordered nine EV-55s for use in Siberia and at the same time signed an option for 20 more machines, which can be called up by 2020. The price per machine is $ 2.1 million.
On March 16, 2017, Evektor announced that the EV-55 project will be temporarily suspended until uncertainties have been clarified with the Malaysian investor. Nevertheless, Evektor hopes to complete the certification as planned.
construction
The Evektor EV-55 is a twin-engine shoulder - wing aircraft with space for up to 14 passengers or up to 1824 kg of cargo, which, thanks to its structural design, has short take-off and landing capabilities.
