Evellius († around 66 ) was an early Christian martyr and is a saint of the Roman Catholic and Orthodox Churches. Legend has it that Evellius was a counselor to Emperor Nero and is said to have been so impressed by the steadfastness of the martyrs of the Neronian persecution of Christians (especially Saint Torpes ) that he converted to Christianity and was then executed for it. His body is said to have been taken to Pisa , unless his execution also took place there. Evellius' feast day is May 11th .
