Everclear (spirit)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Everclear is a brand name for pure ethyl alcohol for drinking in the United States; there the term is notorious. It is available with 60%, 75% and 95% alcohol content . The latter is close to the azeotropic composition of alcohol and water (96.5% by volume of ethanol) and thus to the limit to which alcohol can be distilled .

Alcool Puro is comparable in Italy.

Pop Culture

  • The American rock band Everclear bears the name. Singer Art Alexakis also called it pure white evil in English , which was also the working name of the album So Much For The Afterglow .
  • In the rap song Ever So Clear from 1991, Bushwick Bill of the Geto Boys tells the story of a long night in which he drinks Everclear and consumes angel dust and shoots his eye while attempting suicide.
  • Roger Creager sings about it in "The Everclear Song" from 1998.
